Can social security stop your benefits because u have a mortgage even if in foreclosure?

I received a letter to be in my local SS office in 5 days and one of the things they asked for is info from the lender even though the lender filed bankruptcy and a new lender bought them out. I have not been filing because SSD is my only income, I did have some help but they died recently and what about roommates is that against the rules if not filing? I am really scared, have no family and I am afraid i will be cut off, I have several severe disabilities documented by one of my 5 doctors. PS I have not been filing taxes per recommendation of my attorney who says I do not have taxable income, am I in trouble? health is suffering due to such stress but I am trying so hard to have a positive attitude. Thanks for your time and help Pamela

How can I find if a law group business is legit?

I need help to stop foreclosure on my house and to refinance. I went to a law group that advertises on the radio. They say my case can be worked. The are asking for a fee. Is this normal? I want to know if anybody has had any troubles with this company. I’d hate to pay the fee and have nothing come out of it.
I already checked with the BBB. They haven’t applied.
